WELDING SYMBOLS
WELDING SYMBOLS :
CODE : BS EN ISO 22553 / 2553.
- Single bevel left hand side should be straight.
- U place arrow side symbol on solid line.
- U place arrow other side symbol on dash line.
- Symbol is placed on identification line is other side.
- Right angle lines are on left side of symbol.
- MR – removable backing strip.
- M – Permanent backing strip.
- Cross sectional dimensions [ z,a,s,…etc.,] to the left of the symbol.
- Linear dimensions [ length, distance..] to the right of the symbol.
- Symmetrical weld symbol: different each side of the arrow.
- Arrow line or arrow side.
- Solid line, reference line, continuous line.
- Identification line, dashed line, dotted line.
- Elongated Z is to represent staggered fillet weld.
- Left side to the weld symbol is used to represent leg length.
- Right side to the weld symbol is used to represent staggered fillet weld.
- Flag symbol represents site weld.
- 111 represent welding process.
- 111 – MMA ; 121 – SAW ; 131 – MIG ; 141 – TIG ; 135 – MAG.
AWS A2.4 :
- There is no dash line.
- Arrow side symbol is placed below the solid line.
- Way staggered is represented is the difference in AWS & BS EN
- Staggered means stretch welding.
