APPLICATION OF A GAS TURBINE

APPLICATION OF A GAS TURBINE

  1. POWER GENERATION :

Highly capacity gas turbines are widely used in power generation and standby.

  • The grid system: Power is produced and distributed continuously to large distances through a grid system.
  • Standby generation: Power is produced for emergency uses in hospitals, Public buildings only for a local purpose.
  1. MECHANICAL DRIVER APPLICATION :
  • To pump gas and all through the pipeline.
  • Instead of engines where power ranger is of range above 6mw where the scope.
  1. AUTOMOTIVE APPLICATIONS :
  • For high – speed engine
  • For gas cars (once upon a time)
  • Hybrid electric vehicles. The gas turbine supply power to recharge batteries of an electric motor.
  • For racing cars.
  • In battle tanks – Abram M. Tank.
  1. MARINE :
    • Merchant Containers
    • Submarines
  1. UNMANNED VEHICLE SYSTEM :
  • Commercial our craft and military trainee
  • Advanced military fighters
  • Missiles
  1. CHEMICAL PROCESSING :
  • Process Drivers
  • Petroleum Production
  • Natural Gas processing
  • Plastics manufacturing
  • Ethylene Production.

The compressor rotor is built up small individual wheels connected by bolts providing a rugged steel assembly with fine rotor dynamic balance each individual wheels undergoes x-ray inspection for material lows in flaws in addition each wheel is balanced to ensure concentricity and  multiple through bolts secure the wheels to form a correctly pressurised assembly the balance is held in position by dove fail groves on the rotor wheel mounted on the rotor the stainless blades provide excel at corrosion resistance and good internal damping characteristics.

The rotor blade is large chord broad – blade design with low stress uniquely provide the ability to withstand foreign object damage as well as to maintain high performance of normal wear and contamination. The stator casing horizontally split for ease of assembling maintenance and inspections. Iron casings give dimensional and thermal stability to maintain good radial HP clearance for maximum power and efficiency.
